4.1 Preliminary

4.1.1 Introduction

(1) This Priority infrastructure plan has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Act.
(2) The Priority infrastructure plan may be cited as the Brisbane Priority Infrastructure Plan 2014.

4.1.2 Purpose

The purpose of the Priority infrastructure plan is to:

(a) integrate and coordinate land use planning and infrastructure planning;
(b) ensure that trunk infrastructure is planned and provided in an efficient and orderly manner.

4.1.3 Relationship to planning scheme

The Priority infrastructure plan is based on the planning scheme as at the date of commencement of the planning scheme.

4.1.4 Structure of Priority infrastructure plan

The Priority infrastructure plan:

(a) states in section 4.2 (Application of the Priority infrastructure plan) how the Priority infrastructure plan is to be applied to development;
(b) states in section 4.3 (Planning assumptions) the predicted future urban growth and the assumptions of demand for each trunk infrastructure network, which have informed the preparation of the Priority infrastructure plan;
(c) identifies in section 4.4 (Priority infrastructure area) the priority infrastructure area which is the prioritised area to accommodate future urban growth for 10 to 15 years;
(d) states in section 4.5 (Desired standards of service) the desired standard of performance of infrastructure for each network of development infrastructure;
(e) identifies in section 4.6 (Plans for trunk infrastructure) the existing and planned trunk infrastructure for the following networks:
(i) water supply network;
(ii) sewerage network;
(iii) stormwater network;
(iv) transport network (road network);
(v) transport network (pathway network);
(vi) transport network (public transport (bus stops) network);
(vii) transport network (public transport (ferry terminals) network);
(viii) community purposes network (public parks network);
(ix) community purposes network (land for community facilities network).
(f) identifies in section 4.7 (State-controlled roads) the State-controlled road projects having a local function.
